Sony A7r with Voigtlander 12mm f5.6 Test Sample Images

I am sure many of us who are buying (I have pre-ordered the a7r) or planning to buy the Sony a7 and a7r are planning to use many different types of lens on it using adapters. Since these lens were not designed for the camera many of us are wondering how different lens will perform, especially the issue with wide angle M-Mount lens having color casts and vignetting due to the extreme angle at which the light is hitting the sensor. The only way to really know how each lens will perform is to take photos with them and look at the images.

Before deciding to buy the camera I searched around the Internet and looked at many sample photos of pictures taken with different lens, and I thought it would be useful for other people thinking about buying these cameras as well so I have complied some of the information here for those that might be interested.

The first sample photos are from the Voigtlander 12mm f5.6

These photos were not taken by me but by tamrong@siammirrorless.com and I am truly grateful to him for providing some great information.

As have been widely reported the wider the angle of the M-Mount lens the worst the color cast and vignetting problem will be and as you can see from the pictures that is certainly the case in most shooting situations. This is probably to be expected since the 12mm Voigtlander is an extremely wide angle lens.
