Ok...so it's a really touristy thing to do to go up one of these observation towers located in many cities around the world. But hey...since this was the first time I have been to Fukuoka I think it would give me a good chance to see the overall picture of the town and the lie of the land.

The top floor of the observation tower is 120 meters high...I hope the elevators don't break down today.

Wow...I guess it was worth coming all the way up here after all. Another thing which is a nice surprise is that foreigners get a 20% discount from the entrance fee. In Thailand foreigners usually pay more.

As if I needed confirmation that this is a tourist trap, here is a "love sanctuary" where lovers can buy little padlocks, write their wishes or proclaim their love, and lock it to the side of the tower for all eternity.
